“Star Song”, which Raphaela self-released on streaming platforms in September, features her ethereal, soothing vocals that feel like a massage in my ears. Organic percussion and ascending choral tones build gradually like the sun itself rising – I’m definitely adding this one to my Morning Routine playlist. Follow Raphaela on Spotify and socials to keep the good vibes coming.

Since the world seems to be falling apart around us, and quarantine is a complete killjoy, I’ve been turning to any form of healing and self-care I can get my hands on, and that includes spiritual-healing music. Enter Raphaela Gilla: she’s an Israeli-born, world-traveled musician and artist who creates rich sound palettes to uplift and awaken the listener’s spirit. Raphaela is classically trained in jazz, opera, Oriental, and Arabic music at various music schools around the world, so she really knows her stuff. She combines her traditional musical training with Tibetan singing bowls, shamanic drums, and experiences as a medium to create soundscapes for meditation, yoga, and the like.

“I hear the music and sing what I hear intuitively. It feels like the music is already there, chooses me as a channeling instrument. The melody plays itself through my voice, the lyrics appear as messages. The intuitive improvisations and the songs are being created when I’m in half-trance, in a very meditative state. Mostly it happens when I sing in nature. I feel that I am one with nature, singing and channeling its powerful energy.” -Raphaela Gilla
